TaazaBhav ("we", "us") operates taazabhav.com, a free tool for checking daily agricultural commodity (mandi) prices sourced from India's official Agmarknet / data.gov.in dataset. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the site, why, and what your options are.

1. Information we collect

Usage analytics. We use PostHog to understand which pages and commodities are actually useful, so we know what to improve. This can include pages visited, general device/browser type, and approximate location derived from your IP address (not precise GPS location). We do not require you to create an account, and analytics data is not tied to your name or any other way to identify you personally.

Price Alerts (push notifications). If you turn on Price Alerts for a commodity, your browser creates a push subscription (a technical endpoint, not your name or email) that we store so we can send you a notification when that commodity crosses the price you set. This is used only to deliver that alert. Turning off alerts or clearing your browser's notification permission removes this subscription.

Mera Khet evening alerts. The rest of Mera Khet stays on your phone. If you turn on the evening alert, we store only your crop, sowing date, whether you irrigate, your language and your farm's approximate location (rounded to about 11 km) with the push subscription, so we can check tomorrow's weather risk and notify you. Turning the alert off or deleting the farm removes this data.

What we don't collect. TaazaBhav has no user accounts, no login, and no payment processing — so we don't collect passwords, payment details, or any billing information, because none of that exists on this site.

2. Cookies and local storage

The site may store small preferences in your browser (such as a light/dark display preference) that never leave your device. PostHog may set its own cookies/identifiers to distinguish repeat visits for analytics purposes — see PostHog's own privacy documentation for details on how they handle this data.

3. Third parties who process data on our behalf

• PostHog — analytics.
• Vercel — website hosting.
• Supabase — database hosting for price data and alert subscriptions.

We don't sell any data to advertisers or data brokers, and we don't run ads on this site.

4. Your choices

• You can use the price-lookup features of TaazaBhav without providing any personal information at all.
• You can decline or later revoke notification permission in your browser to stop Price Alerts and remove the associated subscription.
• You can contact us (below) to ask what data, if any, we hold connected to a specific alert subscription, and to request it be deleted.

5. Changes to this policy

If what we collect changes — for example, if accounts or new features are added later — this page will be updated and the "Last updated" date above will change.
