Frequently asked questions
Should I sell at MSP or in the mandi?
Compare take-home, not just the rate. The MSP centre usually pays more per quintal, but it can be farther away, may reject produce that fails moisture or quality norms, and pays into your bank after several days. The mandi pays sooner. The TaazaBhav MSP vs Mandi calculator adds these up for your crop and quantity.
What is the MSP of paddy and wheat now?
Paddy (common) MSP for Kharif 2026-27 is ₹2,441 per quintal. Wheat MSP for Rabi 2027-28 (bought from about April 2027) is ₹2,610 per quintal. Some states pay a bonus on top.
How long does MSP payment take?
Payment goes to your Aadhaar-linked bank account, usually within a few days to two weeks depending on the state. Keep your purchase receipt and check status on your state's procurement portal.
Can I sell all my crop at MSP?
Not always. You must register on your state portal before the season, many states limit how much they buy per acre, and produce must meet quality norms such as moisture limits. Sell the rest in the mandi.
